Designing the most aesthetic digital menu with Almin.io

Almin.io is a personal project I worked on with @beavurus. At the beginning of the year, we wanted to work on a side project together. I came up with the idea to build the most beautiful digital menu for restaurants as I was frustrated with what was available on the market. We put our skills together and built Almin.io. We wanted to add something more to it. Because we had data of restaurants, we could share that with customers by recommending top restaurants inside our guide.

What is it?

Almin.io is a Saas for restaurants to help them build a beautiful digital menu. It also serves as a guide to find great restaurants.

The Process

After getting the idea from one of my own problems, I needed to validate it. I've talked with a few restaurants manager to see if there was any interest, and to @avomania, founder of Schedex, a SaaS for restaurants. Next step was a quick branding to get us started. I chose an icon from iconoir and picked a font to get my logo.

I jumped on the UI by picking a design system first to move fast. We went with Untitled UI (to check). I designed our landing page and @beavurus built it with React. Usually I would use Webflow or Framer when I'm on my own. Next, I've designed the whole app. We were ready to show our mvp to real users.
